CiaTeatro Epigenia creates, produces and premieres 1 NEW show every year since 2012.

CiaTeatro Epigenia is a Humanist company focused on bringing audiences thought-provoking plays that debate current issues, question patterns, and enhance human development. To this end, it invests in in-depth and rigorous text research to select its theatrical projects, recognizing that only through quality content can it broaden audiences' social and cultural perspectives.

For the most part, the chosen shows bring to the stage the intense form of human relations in contemporary times, using wordplay linked to the vehement tempo of the scenes to challenge the audience through the power of what is said and, at the same time, the silence between the lines; the mistakes of pre-judgment and the failure of human communication.

CiaTeatro Epigenia is notoriously one of the most prolific Brazilian companies, with great success with audiences, critics and awards. Since 2012, with or without sponsorship, the company has created, produced and premiered 1 NEW show each year, and is also associated with continuous seasons of previous successful shows.

Of CiaTeatro Epigenia's 27 shows, 20 have run for at least a year, and since 2007 they have been presented in São Paulo and many in other states. This transforms an initial investment in government grants and sponsorships into immeasurable value, as they are reinvested, resulting in new shows, social initiatives, and the sustainability of the company and its members.

In its 25 years on stage, CiaTeatro Epigenia stands out for its quality, recognized by critics, audiences and awards, and its diversity and focus on socially relevant themes.

Founded on November 20, 2000, by artists Luciana Fávero (São Paulo) and Gustavo Paso (Rio de Janeiro), CiaTeatro Epigenia has achieved great success with its consistent work and proven quality, becoming one of the leading theater groups in the country. Its shows have been performed in every region of the country and in almost every state. Its productions have been sponsored by the country's most important companies: Petrobras, Caixa Econômica Federal, Volkswagen, Coca-Cola, Eletrobras, SESI, TAESA, Banco do Brasil, Porto Seguro, among others. It has participated in the country's main theater festivals and won numerous cultural grants at the municipal, state, and federal levels.

CiaTeatro EPIGENÍA is a recognized theater company that combines art and entertainment with great quality.

The company achieved an unprecedented feat: in 2016 (Oleanna) and 2017 (Race), it won consecutively the Aplauso Brasil Award in the Best Company Show category. In 2018, its director was the only one nominated for the main São Paulo awards: Shell and APCA , for directing Hollywood. Both plays are part of the MAMET TRILOGY, an absolute success since 2014 throughout Brazil.

Already recognized in its first work in 2001, in the first of four rave reviews by Barbara Heliodora , as a "Bold" company, it reaches its maturity standing out for combining art and entertainment in its creations, a major differentiator in the current theater market. Maria Eugênia de Menezes acknowledges this fact in her review for the newspaper O Estado de SP regarding David Mamet 's play Hollywood : "By combining art and entertainment, the work of CiaTeatro Epigenia fills a gap in the contemporary theater scene: divided between alternative creations and commercial plays (...) Hollywood is the company's third foray into Mamet's theater. Previously, it had Oleanna and Race – both award-winning creations."
